Just thinking
Ok! So what a land we live in. Eh?? Think of the history in the soil that lay beneath your feet. Its as old as the ages and its ware you call home. Living in Oregon and even Portland I think about this often. Just today I encouraged a customer from Atlanta to go see the Columbia river gorge with the three free hours he has on Wednesday, with great enthusiasm I might add. I wanted to tell him so badly all about the Missoula floods that made the gorge in just a few days but I didn't want to over whelm him with enthusiasm. I often thinks about the volcano's, the desert, and the ocean and its tireless eroding. I think about the first native residents to call this home. How long it was there home. Then my ancestors came as river explorers from the east and sailors from the west. Its amazing to think that the physical world I see and most of what I know, has come to pass in only recent times. What is the connection from yesterday and today? I'm sure we are more closely connected that we might assume. Through all my struggles in life it is amazing to me that I still want to live here. I feel this land below my feet.
